Fertility Counseling

Whole-person support for your fertility journey

Fertility Counseling in The Woodlands, TX

Trying to start a family can be overwhelming. The stress of infertility and pregnancy loss can leave us feeling devastated, hopeless and alone. It can create a divide in the best of marriages and relationships, bring us to tears and sometimes to our knees.

You are not alone.

If you are facing such difficulties, I am here to help. As a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, I work with individuals and couples who are struggling with fertility or who may be considering third-party reproduction. Working together, we will navigate the complex journey of family building together for you, your partner and your family.

Welcome

I'm Julie Parkin. Many of my clients and colleagues know me as Jules. I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in infertility and third-party reproduction through egg donation and gestational surrogacy. This work is close to my heart. My passion stems from both personal and professional experience.

Infertility touches every part of life. It can affect us physically, emotionally, socially and financially. It can strain relationships, shift our sense of self and bring grief we may not have words for yet.

You don't have to do this alone.

My Approach

I practice from an embodiated, whole-person perspective. My psychotherapy approach is brief solution-focused and strengths-based, integrated with mind-body practices. My style is warm and collaborative.

Infertility brings with it a complex mix of emotions including grief, anxiety, uncertainty and sometimes isolation. It can shake our sense of identity and leave us feeling disconnected from our own bodies. That disconnection matters. When we are emotionally overwhelmed, our bodies feel it too. Mind-body practices can help bridge that gap, restoring a sense of safety, calm and connection from the inside out.

Our work together goes beyond talk therapy. Through mindfulness and embodied practices, we will work together to build resilience and inner resources to support you every step of the way.

Family Building Options

If you are contemplating third-party reproduction, whether through an egg donor, sperm donor, gestational carrier (surrogate) or embryo donation, you may be wondering:

  • What is the process?

  • Is this the right decision for me?

  • If using a donor, how will I feel if my child does not look like me?

  • How do bond with my child if I use a gestational carrier?

  • How and when will I tell my child about how they were conceived?

These are deeply personal questions and there are no simple answers. Together we can explore your options, process the emotions that arise and find clarity on what feels right for you.
